Altar Servers

Altar Society
The Altar Society consists of volunteers who keep the sanctuary clean and neat on a weekly basis throughout the year.
Art & Environment
Responsible for liturgical appearance of church and hall, setting the environment as appropriate for various feasts and holidays.
Carnival
The carnival is usually held every June on Father’s Day weekend and runs Thursday through Saturday. It is the largest fund-raiser at St. Stephen with rides, games, live music, and our classic Pit Beef and Fried Dough. Set-up begins the Saturday before the Carnival and take-down occurs Sunday after the Carnival. Many parents and teens meet at 9 a.m. for both set-up and tear-down as well as clean up. Approximately 100 volunteers work each night to run wheels, serve food, and manage parking. It is a time of fun and games for the whole family, a great place to meet fellow parishioners and socialize with your neighbors while helping your parish.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Christmas Bazaar
The Christmas Bazaar is a traditional holiday celebration. The Bazaar offers a variety of attractions including Christmas Tree sales, Live Nativity photos in costume, Pit Beef, homemade crafts, baked goods, religious articles, food, candies, greens, and children’s activities. Watch the Chorus perform and attend the blessing and lighting of the tree.
Eucharistic Ministers

Evangelization Committee
A standing committee of the Parish Pastoral Council that is focused on our Parish’s mission priority of evangelization. New members are always welcome! Meets monthly from September through May for one hour in the Parish Center.
Faith Formation & Sacramental Preparation
Faith Formation for Pre-K through 12th grade. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings, 6:00 - 7:15 PM.
First Reconciliation & Communion and Confirmation classes are held separately from Faith Formation classes with St. Stephen School and Faith Formation students preparing together.

Father’s Club
This group of dedicated, enthusiastic fathers work together to support the school through volunteer efforts, financial contributions, and the sponsorship of many events. Open to all fathers and grandfathers of St. Stephen School students. Please contact the school for more information.
Finance Committee
This committee is responsible for the budget and financial operations of the parish.

Helping Hands Food Pantry
A community outreach program which operates out of Salem Methodist Church to help feed the hungry in emergencies. Non-perishable food items may be left of the back porch of St. Stephen Parish Center. Volunteers are always needed.
Home & School Association
The Home & School Association melds the two groups most interested in the welfare of the students, the home and school. It is dedicated to the improvement of education, service to the school by raising funds, and the development of harmonious relations between the school and community. It is designed to be responsive to the needs of the school and to the interest of parents.
Ladies of Charity
Meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month and distribute poor box collections and donations to individuals and organizations in need; they visit the sick and help in various ways at special functions.
Lectors
The lector proclaims God’s Word to the assembled faith community. Their model is John the Baptist, preparing the Way of the Lord. Interested in becoming a Lector? Reach out to Brother William at 410-592-7072
Liturgy Committee
Liturgy Committee is made up of a group of parishioners and staff who are entrusted with the liturgical needs of the parish.
Choir – Adults
Sings at the 10:45 a.m. Mass in the church and on other Holy Days. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Cantors
Leads congregation in song as Masses, no regular rehearsals, but seasonal workshops.
Choir – Children
Boys and girls grades 2nd – 8th; performs two yearly concerts and on special occasions. Rehearse on Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the school year.
Contemporary Group
Sing and play at 10:45 a.m. Mass in the Hall and on other Holy Days. Rehearse on Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Moms' Ministry
is a community of women from all walks of life (all ages, single, married and with or without children) bringing Christ to others and sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for our Lord. We also contribute to a variety of parish activities for families. If you have an interest in learning more and continuing your faith journey with us, contact us!
Resurrection Choir

Our Daily Bread
Parishioners make casseroles for the homeless; deliver to the Parish Center by the 4th Saturday of the month. Casseroles are delivered to Our Daily Bread. Interested in donating a casserole? Click here for the recipe!
Parish Council
Accepts responsibility as a collaborative and consultive body, with the pastor, for the life and mission of the church and parish. Meetings are the first Wednesday, September through June, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Prayer Chain
Prayer requests made by phone or put in church window box are prayed for daily.
Prayer Group
Charismatic prayer group that meets weekly on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Has Healing Services throughout the year and conducts a Life in the Spirit Seminar.
Pre – Cana
Conduct classes in the Spring and Fall to help couples prepare for Matrimony. Gives couples the opportunity to hear about the sacrament from people who are living it.
R.C.I.A
A process designed to welcome new members into the Catholic Church. Those desiring to be baptized and receive the Eucharist and Confirmation, as well as those who desire to come in full communion with the Catholic Church, are invited.

Right to Life
Informs parishioners of legislation and encourage letter writing regarding pro-life and family issues, help pregnancy centers with baby needs; display information and materials for Respect Life weekend, attend conferences, marches and rallies.
School Board
Establishes with principal, the school budget and tuition and fee rates. Meets bi-monthly on Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Scripture Study
Study and Reflection of the Sacred Scriptures in small groups. Occurs regularly throughout the year.
Soccer

Welcoming Committee
Organizes and sets up Community Sunday in the church basement.
Youth & Young Adult Ministry
Youth grades 7th – 12th, young adults ages 18 – 39. Some of the programs include service projects, prayer and worship experiences, social activities, leadership opportunities, and participation in Archdiocesan events.
